IE Basic Trainers-2

Instrumental Enrichment Basic Trainers 2 (IE Basic Trainers-2) is the second of two required courses for those seeking to become a training professional in IE Basic. This course is open to those who have successfully completed IE Basic Trainers-1, and can submit evidence of at least 45 hours of work as an IE Basic co-trainer, a standard report of IE training and supervision, two training lesson plans and any articles or media if applicable. All candidates must be approved by the Feuerstein Institute.

Sample Syllabus

  • Didactics of teaching the theory of SCM and the theory of MLE to early stage specialists and primary school teachers

  • Mediation in teacher training

  • Didactics of teaching emergent cognitive functions and the Cognitive Map

  • Differential use of the IE Basic program with various populations of learners

  • Observation and critical analysis of IE Basic training sessions

  • Supervised teaching of selected topics to IE Basic-1 course participants

  • "Bridging" IE Basic cognitive principles to kindergarten and primary school curricula

  • Strategies of presenting the IE Basic program to various "clients" (teachers, principals, parents, etc)

  • Promotion of the IE Basic program and the organization of an ATC

  • Quality assurance in IE Basic training

  • Group discussions of participants' teaching and training experiences
